ABOUT THE ARTIST
I'd like to consider myself as the product of a long legacy of makeup artists. My grandmother being an Avon representative "Avon Calling…" and mother an artist as well.
My love for makeup artistry started when I was 3 years old watching my mother demonstrate her Mary Kay products for her friends, family, and clients. I couldn't recognize it at the time, but the energy that filled the room is what captivated me the most. Groups of women with high heels, tired eyes, and permed hair stampeded into our living room at 5'oclock every other wednesday. In amazement, I would watch my mother's application, and you could truly feel any negativity being lifted from their spirit (and shoulder pads, it was the 90's) as soon as they looked at themselves in the mirror. I can remember having feelings equivalent to those of Christmas morning when I would help pack the bright berry lipsticks and ivy green eyeshadows back into their perfect pink casings. Ever since then, I haven't been able to put a mascara wand down.
I received my esthetics training from Bellus Academy and I am licensed through the state board of California in Esthetics. I also attended Bellus Academy's makeup artistry program. I am a Certified Makeup Designory (MUD) Artist. I have been professionally trained in editorial, fashion, high definition, avant garde, airbrush, bridal, and special effects.
I have strong experience with editorial, film, and I have worked with a local fashion magazine (TREND MAGAZINE), Paul Mitchell Salons, Neil Moodie, and all over the U.S. I have worked with world class photographers, stylists, hairstylists, and assisted for the industry's top makeup artists. I am located in the greater Los Angeles area and have experience with celebrity clientele.
Additionally, I received a B.A. in Sociology from California State University San Marcos.
